What an automated desk, office controls, and a stubborn acceptance gate taught me about shipping physical-world workflows.

The physical world pushes back
Software is happy to report that a command was sent. A motor, sensor, or networked device may have a different opinion. Physical automation needs feedback, timeouts, safe defaults, and an honest definition of done.
A successful command is not the same thing as a successful outcome.
Bound the blast radius
Good automation knows which actions are reversible, which states are safe, and when a human should be asked to look. A device integration should never gain more authority than the workflow requires.
Precision outcomes
Splat-I and AdminX are built around this idea. Orchestration is not about sending more commands. It is about getting to the intended outcome with clear ownership and recoverable execution.
